In 2008 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Omaha, Nebraska began to train law enforcement chaplains, once a year, from around Nebraska. Over the years many chaplains have come to train from Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. Over the years Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has been entrusted to provide a regional training in the mid-west for ICPC (International Conference of Police Chaplains) and several yearly trainings.
During 2018, as a Chaplain Corps we decided the Association of Law Enforcement Chaplains needed to be formed so chaplains could be the most equipped individuals to serve our county’s law enforcement officers and the communities they serve. We have decided to dedicate ourselves to providing training nation-wide via, online and on-site. This allows for more chaplains to receive specialized training and proof of receiving specialized training (Certification of completion) that departments seek from their men and women who serve.
